Are your legal pages in order?
A missing privacy policy or Google Analytics firing before consent is the first thing a regulator, or a hostile competitor, looks at. Enter your website and we’ll check the mandatory pages: are they there, do they load, and do they cover the essentials.
What we check
- Company detailsRegistered name, company number, registered office and contact details. A separate page, the footer or the top of the terms all count.
- Privacy policyIs it there, does it load, and does it give a contact address and mention the supervisory authority (the ICO in the UK).
- Terms and returnsIf we find a shop: are there terms of sale, and do they explain the 14-day right to cancel.
- Cookie policy and tracking codeDoes Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or other tracking start before the visitor agrees, and is there a cookie banner.
Reading the result
- A machine checks this, not a lawyer: we measure whether a page exists and what’s on it, not whether the wording is legally right.
- We read the links from the home page HTML. If the footer is built with JavaScript, we also try the usual addresses (such as /privacy-policy and /terms).
- “Not found” doesn’t always mean missing: the page may have an unusual name or address. It’s worth a look.
